“The hotel is very clean and the room was spacious. The breakfast was the best among all the hotels I visited in UK in the past two years at this price.
It’s just opposite the train station and there was a good Chinese restaurant- Red Chilli - close by. The hop-on-hop-off bus is just outside the train station. Everything is so convenient.”
“Safestay in York is an excellent place to stay, especially if you arrive by train. It is a few minutes' walk from the station, and also very close to all the major attractions.
We stayed in a room in the basement, and although it was not luxurious, it had everything we needed. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was a dehumidifier in the room, so no moldy, damp smell. Even though it was freezing outside, the radiator kept the room warm enough.
The bathroom is quite small, though, and no bath mat was supplied for when you step out of the shower. The water in the shower did not get hot enough - it stayed lukewarm.
The breakfast was good value for money, but it could get quite noisy when there were large groups of people. I also saw people taking all the fruit and extra yoghurts and croissants for 'takeaways'.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
All in all it was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.”
